Since the Prime Minister announced that travelling to and from work should only be undertaken if “absolutely necessary” and our subsequent temporary suspension of operations, we have entered into dialogue with government representatives and they have now clarified that we are able to continue limited operations at our Sheffield site subject to strict provisions and that this will also allow us to meet requirements where PCL products are being used in key sectors.

We are therefore happy to advise you that as from 1st April 2020 we will resume some production and logistical activities.

We will endeavour to fulfil orders placed during our temporary suspension immediately; as we continue to observe government restrictions we will be operating with a reduced team and therefore lead times maybe impacted slightly, we therefore ask you to bear with us. In all other respects business will continue as usual and we look forward to serving you with minimal interruption.

We will continue to update you as circumstances develop and, in the meantime, we would like to thank you for your patience and continued support during these uncertain times.

In line with PCL’s commitment to put the health and well-being of all our staff, customers and suppliers first and following the Prime Minister’s announcement last night suspending travel to all but essential work, we have taken the difficult decision to suspend production and all dispatches from Sheffield, the site will be temporarily closed with immediate effect.

All those at PCL who can work remotely will continue to work from home, to meet the needs of customers and suppliers as best we can in these very testing times. All the teams which can operate from home including Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Purchasing and Engineering are available to support you and can be contacted on their usual numbers. You may continue to place orders during this time, but naturally there will be a delay in the dispatch of your goods. Upon the resumption of services all orders received in the interim will be prioritised and shipped in the order in which they were received.

In accordance with the Government timescales the situation will be reviewed in three weeks, while of course we will advise if there are any updates following further Government announcements through email our websites and social media channels.

Obviously, this situation is unprecedented, and we take the opportunity to wish all our customers and suppliers well and a safe passage through the current troubled waters.
