Created by local businesses and organisations, including the Chamber of Commerce, The Made in Sheffield Mark is a symbol of the city’s ongoing commitment to quality and excellence.
Sheffield has a proud history of manufacturing products with a cutting edge, and is home to world-class companies covering a diverse range of industries. Those eligible to carry the Mark must be located in the Sheffield post code area and be able to demonstrate their dedication to producing high quality products.
Therefore PCL was keen to display the “Made in Sheffield” Mark, to emphasise both its credentials as a world-leading provider of premium products, and the company’s commitment to manufacturing in the UK.
The past five years have seen dramatic changes as PCL strengthens its global leadership in tyre inflation equipment and services, and establishes itself as a leading provider of pneumatic products.
This has been achieved with the development of a strong range of new products, including the electronic tyre inflation ranges, air tool and air treatment ranges.
Whilst PCL has achieved huge success on an international scale, the company still operates as a traditional and approachable company with a dedicated manufacturing base at its Sheffield HQ.
Market-leading products produced there include the Hi-FLO MK3 Tyre Inflator, a continuing improvement on the highly regarded MK3, which has become the industry standard in UK garages, petrol forecourts, tyre shops and transport depots.
Other new improved lines manufactured on-site include Safeflow, a new PCL profile safety coupling for compressed air applications with two-stage release, making it safe to disconnect by releasing the air line pressure before the adaptor can be removed, thus eliminating hose whip.
Ian McCreadie, Managing Director PCL, said: “We have recently transformed our branding into one which represents PCL’s world expertise, and will continue to expand globally, providing first-class, reliable and cost effective products for tyre inflation and pneumatics, with localised service whatever your location.
“However, we remain firm in our commitment to our roots and will continue to manufacture our “Made in Sheffield” products in the UK. Therefore we are very proud to be able to display the city’s prestigious Mark of quality and excellence.”
