Sheffield Precision Meets Shanghai Ingenuity – PCL opens new production facility in China

PCL, a member of the Horn Group and a global leader in tyre inflation technology, has announced further expansion with the opening of a new production facility in Shanghai.

Having already expanded its operations in the USA this year, PCL sees this new R & D and production facility as a means to meeting the ever-growing demand for its digital and nitrogen inflation equipment.

“This is Sheffield precision meets Shanghai ingenuity,” said Ian McCreadie, Managing Director of PCL. “We have some very ambitious and demanding expansion plans and this opening reinforces our commitment to deliver them.”

He continued: “Shanghai is world-renowned for the development and production of electrical and electronic equipment, so the decision over where to establish a new centre was an easy one.

“The investment and development of this new factory will play a major part in the continued growth of PCL, as it complements the skill set of our existing manufacturing base. It combines Sheffield’s reputation of quality and precision with Shanghai’s ingenuity and advancement in technology. This new location offers the opportunity to work alongside companies that are at the cutting edge of electronic development and to introduce these technologies to the tyre inflation industry.”

The factory is already in full production, thanks to a massive team effort, both from the UK and in Shanghai, and is currently producing a full range of digital and nitrogen tyre inflation equipment.

Mr McCreadie said: “We are the market leader in our industry and intend to reinforce that position with further development and introduction programs over the coming months.

“We have some new and exciting projects in the pipeline which we will be unveiling later in the year – so watch this space!”
