What is the difference between Airflow and Vertex Couplings?


PCL’s Airflow and Vertex Couplings have many similarities; both feature the distinctive blue silicone band with a steel construction and corrosive resistant, both have the same specifications and are compatible with PCL's Standard Adaptors, however the main difference between the Airflow and Vertex is the application they are used for.

 

 

What application is the Airflow Coupling used for?




Airflow Series

Airflow couplings are suitable for most compressed air applications - particularly fixed applications where the coupling is used over a workbench, pipework and where single action is preferred.

What application is the Vertex Coupling used for?

Designed for trailing hose applications, the Vertex Coupling features a double action mechanism, this means the user will need to pull the sleeve back to insert the adaptor then push the sleeve to lock the adaptor in place and vice versa, this prevents accidental disconnection, making the Vertex coupling ideal for garage and tyre shop environments, especially where operatives are using air tools or handheld tyre inflators.
