Why we have upgraded the CO2 to the CH2 single clip on connectors

In 2019, we launched the new CH2 single clip-on connector which was introduced to bring PCL’s connector range into the 21st century. The new connector range quickly gained a proven track record of success with distributors, OEMs and end users alike providing positive feedback. Due to the success of the CH2 connectors, this year we have made the decision to make the CO2 obsolete.

What are the differences the between the old style CO2 and new style CH2?

No. 1  New design

On first look, you can tell that the new connector looks very different. After over 40 years of reliable service, it was time to give the CO2 a much-needed facelift to feature more modern styling and ergonomics. Vehicle design has advanced so much since the 80s, and the new connector has been designed with this front of mind.

No. 3   360° swivel motion

The 360° swivel motion design of the new style connector range makes tyre inflation easier on modern vehicles with larger alloy/steel wheels, as well as more intricate designs that make the valves more difficult to access.

No. 4  The CH2 boasts a vice like grip

Developed through extensive in-house and external testing, the new, improved design ensures zero air leakage, with a simple clockwise turn achieving an even stronger vice-like grip.

They stay connected to the valve with no signs of wear -
saving us time and resources when inflating tyres. Overall a good product.

No. 5  Angled and handle versions are now available

The new range comprises of standard straight CH2 connectors, as well as 90-degree CH4 connectors, for greater manoeuvrability and to get to hard-to-reach valves such as motorcycle tyres.

More recently, PCL has continued to add to its advanced range with the CH3 Swivel Clip-on Connector, featuring a twin clip-on version for the inflation of twin tyres. The CH3’s ergonomic handle makes them comfortable to use, preventing fatigue over long periods.
